New York

I was born and raised in NY and love the state. There tons of great things to do, great culture and there is something for everyone. Below is a list of places I have been to, which I hope helps when planning your trip or just trying somewhere new if you are a New Yorker.  I plan on updating this list throughout the year. Harlem B2Harlem - Great for brunch, date night, girls night out or a casual meeting. Very mature, sexy but casual vibe. Great food and drinks.  Cecil - The Cecil is a Harlem staple and you should plan to visit if you are in the area. Depending on the day of the week the vibe could be grown and sexy, there could be a jazz band or it could feel like a club. Definitely call to make reservations and check the vibe for the day. I have been there brunch, dinner and for Valentines Day, which I highly recommend. Ponty Bistro  This is one of my favorite spots in Harlem. Very lay back vibe that perfect for brunch or catching up over dinner...

Colombia

One my my goals for 2019 is to travel at least 4 times. One trip with family, another with friends, one romantic getaway and a solo trip. My first trip of 2019 to Colombia checked off the family trip goal. Why I went : I was invited to a destination wedding in Colombia and decided to make a vacation out of it. Columbia wasn't high on my travel list since I have been to Panama several times and figured Colombia would be similar - boy was I wrong. Colombia has a unique vibe and a rich African history I didn't know about. How we got there:   We scored a cheap flight to and from NY on JetBlue.  We flew on Viva Air from Cartagena to Bogota. When you buy tickets on Viva Air they will ask if you are Colombian, which will allow you to buy a cheaper ticket than an International traveler. I risked it and bought the Colombian ticket - they didn't check at the airport and there were no issues. The only downside to Viva Air is that they charge for carry-ons ($30) and snack...

Morocco

It's been one month since my trip to Morocco and I am finally back to my New York equilibrium. The trip was awesome and I recommend going. Hopefully this blog gives you a flavor for the county and some tips when planning to go. Why I went: My friend,  Zahra , invited me to go on a trip to Morocco that was planned by   Well Diva - Fly Life Travel . If you have read my previous blogs, you know that I take pride in finding cheap flights, planning my own trips and traveling with a small crowd. This trip was completely different, I paid and had no say in the planning. Surprisingly, it felt good not having to think about a thing. I will be honest, I don't think I would have had this level of trust with just any travel company nor do I recommend it. Zahra traveled with the group before and endorsed it, which put me at ease. Group Travel: Traveling with a group of friends you know and meeting new friends on a group trip makes travel fun. I recommend resear...

Paris

If you are thinking about going to Paris - Go! I was never one of those people super excited to visit Europe, but I am so glad I went. A friend suggested we go to Paris for the 30th Anniversary of Diner en Blanc , we found cheap tickets and we were in Paris. I need to go back soon :) How we got there :A group of us flew XL Airways from NY to Paris round-trip for about $400. XL Airways is cheap but you definitely get what you pay for. The seats are a little tight and I suggest bringing your own food on the flight (the bougie girl in me fasted the entire flight). Where to stay : I loved staying at Le Cinq Codet . Its super chic, clean and the service is awesome. The hotel is also walking distance to the Eiffel Tower and great restaurants. How long to stay  : I would recommend 1 week or a little longer to really immerse yourself in the city and explore other areas in France. Who to go with  : I went with a small group of friends to attend Diner en Blanc. ...
